Independence Guide: R. Eric Swanepoel

R. Eric Swanepoel was born in Edinburgh, but largely
grew up in Zimbabwe and South Africa, returning to the UK in 1987 at the
age of 22. While he has done various other things he has always written.
He has lived and worked all over the UK (particularly Aberdeen, Manchester
and Edinburgh, where he now lives) and he also "did the writer bit" in
Paris, where he wrote the first draft of what's sure to be a controversial
book (to be published this year under a pen name almost ten years later!)
and also most of his novel, "Saving the World and Being Happy (The
Computer Ager)".
Despite being published on a print-on-demand basis
it has received excellent reviews and Eric is currently seeking a new
publisher for it. Eric has also had various short stories and poems
published in literary magazines, currently assists people with their
biographies, and is a member of the Society of Authors. He is to the left
of the political spectrum, and describes himself as an activist, but is
not a member of any party.
Eric is currently running a campaign against
Rupert Murdoch
and the Sun and has recently submitted a letter (with other political
activists) to various papers about:
