The Independence convention have recently launched a petition for Scottish independence which is being backed by all groups who support independence. You can download a copy of the petition from the above website.

The Independence Convention is an umbrella grouping for supporters of Scottish independence. The convention launched on St. Andrew's Day, 2005 and was supported by Independence First (the referendum campaign). The Convention officially backed IF's 30th September rally and both organisations maintain a close working relationship.

The independence convention has a very attractive modern website and they hold regular monthly meetings at the Quaker halls in Edinburgh. Contact David McCann at the above website to learn more. They also have very interesting blogs on their website. Their current convenor is Elaine C Smith and other prominent members include Isobel Lindsay and Stephen Maxwell.

You can join the Independence Convention through their website (see top of page) and receive future notification of their meetings. Membership is open to all and the convention is a highly professional and active organisation. The SNP, SSP and Greens are officially represented at most Convention meetings and their launch was a very inspiring event. You can also sign their declaration and make a donation to the convention online.
